Leviticus 23:22
When you reap the harvest of your land, moreover, you shall not reap to the very corners of your field nor gather the gleaning of your harvest; you are to leave them for the needy and the alien. I am the Lord your God.
The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) is the federal government agency charged with providing benefits and services to assist the resettlement and local integration of refugee populations. Some of the ORR programs include Refugee Cash Assistance and Refugee Medical Assistance (for up to 8 months); Refugee Social Services, such as job and language training (for up to 5 years); and temporary custody and care to unaccompanied refugee children. Praise God for these assistive agencies that have helped refugees find places of residence and aid for settlement. Pray for these agencies to continue in their work efforts, to be readily available, and that our government continues to fund their services. Pray for an even greater availability for refugees to gain assistance through these services, but also through other places (churches, non-profit groups, and communities).
