Lift Off! 40 Days of Sacrifice - Day 35
Day 35: Residence
Leviticus 19:33-34
When a stranger resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. The stranger who resides with you shall be to you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt; I am the Lord your God.
The leading states of residence of refugees admitted to the U.S. in 2013 were Texas (11 percent), California (9.1 percent), and Michigan (6.7 percent). Texas remained the most common destination of refugees, with arrivals increasing 26 percent from 5,905 in 2012 to 7,466 in 2013. Pennsylvania was the only state among the 10 most common destinations for refugees that experienced a decline from 2012 to 2013.
Pray for refugees residing in the U.S. and these particular states. Thank God for their willingness to admit the displaced in these locations. Continue to pray for these states, their leadership, and legislature to continue the allowance of refugees into their areas. And pray for continual stability and comfort for refugees who currently reside in these states (especially California!).
