Lift Off! Missions Minded - Day 09
Day 09 - Filled with the Holy Spirit
Acts 13:6-9
When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they found a magician, a Jewish false prophet whose name was Bar-Jesus, who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the word of God. But Elymas the magician (for so his name is translated) was opposing them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. But Saul, who was also known as Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fixed his gaze on him...
Believers already have the Holy Spirit in them, but at times the Spirit fills someone in a special way to enable him or her to proclaim God’s Word.

In preparing for missions, the work of the Holy Spirit is crucial to lead and guide us personally first. The counsel of God's Spirit will truly move us to do and act in God's will, so praying for it's filling will help reveal God's heart and vision for us. Pray for His leading, so that we know God's perfect place for us--not just for missions work, but also personally as we follow the Spirit each day. Ask for boldness and courage to be able to proclaim God's Word not just for missions work abroad, but for personal guidance and counsel to those close to us.
