Acts 14:1-2
In Iconium they entered the synagogue of the Jews together, and spoke in such a manner that a large number of people believed, both of Jews and of Greeks. But the Jews who disbelieved stirred up the minds of the Gentiles and embittered them against the brethren.
In missions, forms of suffering can come from many different places and people. Pray for joy in the midst of these difficulties experienced on the field, but also right now at home. We may be in the midst of suffering right now--pray that joy would come from drawing close to God. And whether He carries us out of the trouble now or later, that we continue to rely on Him. Pray for intimacy with Christ, so that no matter what external pressures pull us in various directions, you remain steadfast in the joy of salvation. Pray that this type of joy would be shared through you as you consider missions.
