Lift Off! Missions Minded - Day 03
Day 03 - Grace Instead of Slander
Acts 14:2-3
But the Jews who disbelieved stirred up the minds of the Gentiles and embittered them against the brethren. Therefore they spent a long time there speaking boldly with reliance upon the Lord, who was testifying to the word of His grace, granting that signs and wonders be done by their hands.
Words are so powerful--especially on the missions field. There are opportunities to speak with grace or slander from those who stir persecution. Pray for hearts that are gracious and words that are beneficial rather than detrimental. In the midst of fear, hatred, or misunderstanding, it's so easy to place blame and attack. But let's pray for peaceful hearts, giving grace to those who may be against us. Today, at home, you may have those who speak out against you, who harm you, and tear you down. Pray for an attitude of forgiveness and clarity to be built within you.
1 Peter 3:8-9
To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.
