Lift Off! Road to Renewal - Day 05

Day 05: GROWTH

SCRIPTURE
James 1:2-4 (NLT)
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

PRAYER
Father, thank you for placing me in situations and circumstances that allow me to grow. Please open my eyes to all the ways you are trying to stretch me each and every day. Help me see how you are orchestrating every situation so that I can become more and more like you. Attune my eyes to see the blessings of this moment, even when the season is difficult and the growing pains tear at my heart.  Transform me into someone who looks, acts, and loves like you. Give me the wisdom and the grace to accept trials as a catalyst for growth. You encourage me out of my comfort zone and give me the fervor to not live in a state of stagnancy or complacency. Thank you for loving me so much and showing me your hand in every area of my life.

NEXT STEPS
Take time today to journal or write down a few ways that you feel God is currently trying to grow you. If nothing comes to mind, ask God to highlight how He is moving within a difficult situation in your life. Ask Him what He's trying to teach you through that discomfort and what might be transformed within you as a result. Don't get overwhelmed by the big picture, once you have identified a few areas where God is growing you (and only pick a few!) list one additional step that would help you lean into the growth. Perhaps He is trying to grow you in thankfulness. If that's the case, start a gratitude journal and make a goal to find three things a day to be thankful for. Start small and build from there.
