2019 Thailand Missions - Feeling Supported

Thank you FCBCLA! This past Sunday (6/2), we had an incredible fundraiser at our local church. Our team decided to serve watermelon juice, Thai tea, and mango sticky rice! We prepped together with some great help from friends and family. On Sunday, we bombarded our church with these refreshing snacks and it really brought great engagement with the team and some needed fellowship. We shared about our trip in various settings and were prayed over in worship service. After it all, we felt extremely accomplished, thankful, and supported by the body of Christ--there’s a bit of rejuvenation in our efforts to go out and share the Gospel. Thank you God for the church!
If you weren’t able to come by our table, we passed out a prayer support card with small details about how to lift us up to God. Below are the ways to pray for us as we continue to prepare. We’re a little less than 20 days away, but we could use your efforts to pray for us even now. Besides these requests, please continue to pray for our current spiritual lives. We’re all busy with various activities and responsibilities before heading out, so pray that we focus on spiritual aspects before heading into the field.

We have no doubt the next few weeks will fly by and we’ll find ourselves sitting on the plane as we cross the Pacific Ocean. Until then, we are encouraged by your words of affirmation to us, your continued prayers, and thoughts as we make our final preparations. Can’t thank you enough!


BRIEF SUMMARY OF OUR TRIPJune 22 - July 5
Volunteering at The Centre - Chiang Mai
The Centre staff shares the love of Christ by building relationships through community events and affordable English classes for university students and young adults. we will support The staff by intentionally engaging these students (some are friends from last year!) in hopes of developing deeper bonds to share more about Christ.

July 5-8
English teaching with Lillian - Chiang Rai
With the help of our missionary Lillian, we will also teach a few conversational English classes at two local schools. This platform gives us the opportunity to love the students and staff through their language learning (pronunciation, reading, writing, conversation practice).

PRAY FOR US WITH JOY
Jesus: May our team + the Centre staff + Lillian abide in Christ, serve with like-mindedness in our diversity, and learn to humbly build bridges as Christ exemplified among different cultures.

Oohs & aahs: May our witness bring hope & wonder of Jesus and the good news. May we be courageous and confident AS the Spirit guides in various circumstances. May English teaching, and faith sharing plant seeds in good soil.

Yearn + yield: May we all yearn for & yield to the Prince of Peace. many Thai believers experience hardship identifying as a Christian while rejecting their lifelong Buddhist ways. May we rely on God’s strength, grace, by loving Him and the Thai Church.
