April Flight Itinerary

I can't help but think about everything that happened last week--there was so much! And I'm sure many of you had close to the same week, whether it was a missions trip, retreat, studying, project, and/or midterm, my prayer is that you were able to still focus on the importance of the cross. Being so busy, I'm sure it was too easy to let it all slip away. But I hope this month, you can still continue to dwell on Jesus, his death and resurrection that gives us life today. In the midst of finishing up the spring term, may Christ's sacrifice, humility, and hope guide your steps. Here's what's happening this month:

Annex: Schedule
Where are we visiting colleges this spring season? Check out the schedule for campus visits to the right of this page. Save the dates and join us for meet ups and evening gatherings!

Baptism
Sunday, June 3, 2017
If you're interested in getting baptized in June, please chat, text, email darrenlo[at]fcbc[dot]org IMMEDIATELY. You'll need to work on your testimony (1-2 pages), fill out an application, and get references to start the process--don't wait!

Passage: Counterfeit Gods
As we continue our theme on "Props" (worship), we'll look specifically at things that deter us away from fully worshipping the one, true God. Counterfeit Gods is a book by Tim Keller in which we look at the things we hold higher than God. These idols can easily deter us away from truly worshipping and seeking God because we like to hold on to them so much. Join us in this 7-week study!

College & Young Adult (CYA) Camp
May 25-28  |  Cal Lutheran University  |  $175
New dates for our camp this year! Join us as we seek God and fellowship together this Memorial Day weekend. This is a great opportunity to learn and grow with other collegians and get connected with young adults of FCBC. Registration starts here. Goes up $10 after May 14, so don't wait. Questions, ideas, thoughts? Contact Darren.

Summer Enrichment Program
June 18 - July 20  |  FCBCLA  |  Looking for tutors!
Help serve children of our Chinatown Community this summer! It is our vision that kids from completed Kindergarten through 5th grade will come to our church in the morning to be tutored in core subjects of Math, English and Bible.  In the afternoon we will have lighter subjects such as Arts and Crafts, PE, Careers class. Through these classes, we hope to build relationships with the children and help them come to know Christ as Lord and Savior. A small stipend is provided for all staff. For more information, contact Brian Wang (brianwang[at]fcbc[dot]org)

Summer missions opportunities
Various locations and dates
Last month we made a large effort for summer missions opportunities (see post here). If you didn't get a chance to sign up for more info and/or commit, please contact Darren asap! We'll be finalizing locations and teams in the first part of this month, but don't delay! Even if you're still unsure, but interested, let's talk!
