Lift Off! 40 Days of Sacrifice - Day 37
Day 37: Settled
Exodus 23:9
You shall not oppress a stranger, since you yourselves know the feelings of a stranger, for you also were strangers in the land of Egypt.
Since 1975, the U.S. has resettled more than 3 million refugees, with nearly 77 percent being either Indochinese or citizens of the former Soviet Union. Since the enactment of the Refugee Act of 1980, annual admissions figures have ranged from a high of 207,116 in 1980, to a low of 27,100 in 2002. (tgc.org)
Praise God that the U.S. has allowed so many refugees a place to settle and create a home. Pray that wherever there are needs, God would be sovereign in leading the displaced into safe and fruitful areas. Pray that they would find comfort and stability instead of oppression and wrongdoing for those who seek a home.
