WLS+AZ Missions Profile: Darren Lo
Lately, God has been impressing on my heart new and different ways to reach the Navajo at our location in Hard Rock, AZ. In hearing about this conference that some of them had been attending over the past few years, I never thought it would be possible to join them on this journey. The opportunity arose to attend, along with the chance to connect with more Navajo on a deeper level. And thought this was an excellent chance to see where God may open further doors for us. This new trip could also open further doors for future trips and I wanted to see how God might use college students to accomplish the task of deeper relationships with the Navajo.
What are you most fearful about?
There is an inherent fear that we will not be well accepted amongst the conference itself. After all, it is a conference strictly for Natives. However, we have been assured by some of our Navajo connections that because of our history, we should be able to create opportunities for ministry. Furthermore, I fear having sustained strength throughout the entire trip. It is basically going to a summer camp and a 'roughing-it' missions trip on back-to-back weeks. Pray that we have enough endurance through God's strength each day (this is something I'll probably be begging for each day/hour).
How can we pray for you?
Pray that I will be able to be sustained by God for everything from physical strength to spiritual guidance throughout this trip. Pray also that in the midst of the unknown, we would all seek for His leading through the Holy Spirit. And lastly, pray that I would be able to help lead this time and handle responsibilities such as teaching and facilitating throughout both weeks of the trip--both weeks are vastly different in terms of ministry, pray for good adjusting to the various needs.
