Praying for Summer Missions
Postponed this week due to Hub. Go to Hub.
Each Sunday after worship at 11:40am, we gather to pray that summer missions would be upon the hearts of the collegians, and God will direct them to be part of God's work in the world. (2nd Floor Elevator)
FCBC Church Members' Meeting.
Sunday, 1:15pm, Praise Center. As mentioned in the previous post, there are some position changes occurring at church. This Sunday, we will vote on accepting Pastor Chris Tomokiyo as the Adult Minister. If you're a church member, you can contribute to the decision by asking questions and voting. ("Yes" votes can confirm this decision that he should be in Adult Ministries. "No" votes can mean Chris is not the person for this position, or he's of value where he is now in Young Adult Ministries.) Also, his move to the Adult Minister position is a lateral move, not an upward move. Some may have this impression that it's a promotion.
As a church member, you will also decide on the creation of two new positions: Mandarin-speaking Asst. Minister and SGV-Branch Asst. Minister. Is this something the church should do? Be part of this decision.
The Ordinance of Baptism
Sunday, Feb 24, 3:00pm, Worship Center.
Celebrate faithfulness and obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ!
Praying for The Presence of God.
ESPM. Wednesdays, 7:30pm, Life Center, 205-206. At English-speaking Prayer Meeting we've been learning and praying for the "manifest presence of God". Although God is omnipresent, the manifest presence of God is when his presence in a specific location is palpable. One definitely knows he's in this place. People are moved to confession, worship, forgiveness, prayer. One can strongly sense his presence. For the last five weeks, we've been seeking for God's presence amongst our people and in his church. This begins with prayer.
Isaiah 56:6-7: "Also the foreigners who join themselves to the Lord, To minister to Him, and to love the name of the Lord, To be His servants, every one who keeps from profaning the sabbath and holds fast My covenant; Even those I will bring to My holy mountain and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”
Join us. Pastor Chris shared a funny illustration about attending prayer meeting: It's like eating regularly and often–you may not notice any difference from meal to meal, but it can definitely change the way you look over the long run.

Flight Goals for 2012-2013
Goal 1: Have prepared a concise and articulate response to "Why is Jesus significant in my life?"
Goal 2: Confidently know the gospel message through the 5P's outline, and how to lead someone to Christ using the ABCCs. Forgot the 5P's and ABC's? Be reminded here: 5P's & ABC's
Goal 3: Actively participate in one evangelistically-based event or mission.
Goal 4: During the summer, when you are out of school, attend ESPM (church prayer) regularly. Admit it, your summers are free. Give 2 hours each week to pray.
