Flight Report 1.06.2012

Happy New Year!

FLIGHT RETREAT Thanks to many of you for attending Flight Retreat. Attendance was record setting—we had 65 collegians!. First time in recent years we've hit this number. Pat yourself on the back! But God, especially, deserves appreciation. He gave us a great speaker in Matt Taylor, who charged us to know and remember Who God is and How God is over what we are to do. Also, our sharing times and fellowship were really positive. No one got seriously hurt despite some slips on the ice, there were no distractions, our programming all went without a hitch, and God answered all our prayers for planning and travel. Cheers for God!

So...what now? The retreat experience has passed and student life resumes. The critical questions to ask yourself should not be the same as before ("What do I do now to grow?"). The better questions to ask are "Who am I as a person loved by God?" and "How should I allow the Holy Spirit to change me?"

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and You will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and My burden is light." –Matt. 11:25-30

Shout outs to the retreat team: Chris Wong (director), Matt Lee (asst. dir). Registration/transpo: Andrea Wong, Alisa Wong, Sean Ishikawa. Devotions: Kylie Yano, Jessica Lam. Prayer: Valerie Ky. Games: Kara Lue, Ashley Chow, Ryan Lew, Enoch Cheung. Music: Ethan Fung, Ryan Yuan, Melissa Quach, Joy Lam. And all the sharing group facilitators. Thanks also to all who drove!
