Flight Report 12.16.2011

"Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders.
Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad.
Seek the LORD and His strength;
Seek His face continually
"  — Psalm 105:1-4

The semester or quarter is done (for most of you). Give thanks to God! "Welcome back" to those who have returned from afar! Glad you're back in L.A. I hope that during this Christmas season, you are able to appreciate many things and give thanks for them—family, friends, rest, the birth of Jesus Christ, salvation through Jesus Christ,... The list goes on!

Here's a challenge to you: spend quality time with God during your break. Quiet time and personal worship can take a hit during school. They can also be completely missed during break because of excessive sleep, late nights on-line, hanging out with friends, shopping, family events...the list goes on. Make a date with God, and hangout with him. Don't return to school with regret that you missed an opportunity to refresh with God. —John

-Love by Breakfast (Dec 11) was successful! Lots of winter-wear and school supplies were collected. The clothes will go to the Union Rescue Mission. School supplies went to Castelar Elementary. There was a good turnout for fellowship, too. Lots of people took advantage of a free pancake breakfast and jook.
-Morgan Linen Brunch (Dec 14). It was a great time to share a meal with our church neighbor, Morgan Linen. We had a delicious Hawaiian-themed meal, a testimony was shared, and workers won raffle prizes. All workers left with a ceramic commuter mug, too!
(Both these events occur each year. Pray about your participation in either...or both! Be a blessing.)
