Lift Off! Missions - Day 01

Day 01: Thailand Missions

Missions Information
June 26 - July 13
Location: Chiang Rai, Thailand
Organization: FCBCLA

Collegians attending: Rochelle Lai, Kristy Leung, Noel Wong, Clement Ng, Ian Kwok, Joyce Lam, Cindy Zhang, Esther Yue, *Caleb Choi, *Doris Chow, *John Chow

11 members from FCBC will be returning to teach conversational English at the Jian Hua Middle/Senior High School in Chiang Rai, Thailand. We hope the good work done last year will further our relationship with the students, teachers and administration. We hope to share about our faith in Christ during lunch breaks and after school. We will also return to the orphanage we visited last year, sharing the love and care of Christ to the abandoned kids. We are hoping to connect with a human trafficking ministry but we wait for God to open this door. 


Pray for great team unity, that we would represent the body of Christ well. Pray for quick and comfortably-formed relationships with the students and staff. Pray that we would be bold and confident with the Gospel for it is the power of salvation. Pray for openness and receptivity to the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Lift Off! Missions - Day 02

Day 02: Arizona Missions w/ HSMT

Location: Hard Rock, AZ
Organization: Twin Mesa Bible Church, FCBC - support High School Missionary Team (HSMT)

 Collegians attending: Katrina Wong, Simon Su, Stephanie Li, Jocelyn Cui, Sherry Chan, Janet Chan, Ashley Chuck, Daniel Lew, Daniel Li

 This missions trip mainly holds a Vacation Bible School (VBS) on the Navajo Reservation for children, teens, and young adults in Association with Twin Mesa Bible Church. Most of the collegians attending summer's trip will be overseeing the Navajo's teens class. They will be planning and executing small group discussions, one-on-one evangelism, crafts, games, and supporting the overall team.

 Please pray as they plan for their class and small groups that God would guide them in the planning. Pray as the main lessons are being prepared and delivered by Daniel Keng and Darren Lo. Pray for the Holy Spirit's leading on the trip to create divine opportunities in small groups, one-on-one interactions, and fellowship. And lastly, pray for a heart towards the Navajo people not just during the trip, but also for follow-up afterwards.

Lift Off! Missions - Day 03

This summer, my team and I will be in a megacity in East Asia for a cultural exchange with university students. We will be spending time in a small town in the area to offer a week-long summer camp for local high schoolers in collaboration with some university students. But most importantly, my team and I hope that through our actions and relationships, we will be able to have many opportunities to share God’s love with these young people!

Please pray for safety throughout the travels of the trip; for patience throughout the trip; for unity amongst the team members because we don't know each other; for open hearts to receive the message of the Gospel; and that we would all be strengthened by prayer.

Lift Off! Missions - Day 04

 Missions Information

Location: Myanmar
Organization: Friends of Grace
My team consists of 36 dentists, doctors, and pre-med/pre-dental students that will offer free medical, dental, and social services for local churches, Bible Schools, refugee camps, and orphanages in Myanmar. We hope to spread the love of God through treating over a thousand patients in two weeks. As a pre-dental student, I will be acting as a chair side assistant and observing the dentists providing dental care. In orphanages, I will aid in cavity prevention by giving out fluoride treatment and hygiene instruction to children.

Please pray for flexibility--to be open and adaptable to wherever God leads during the trip. Also for love--to show unconditional love to the people we interact with, to love them as Christ does. And finally, for health--to be safe & healthy, as malaria is prevalent in the countryside, especially as monsoon season approaches.

Information is limited at the moment, but we will be sharing the Gospel to students and campuses overseas. The team is very large of about 25 students. But I'm excited and never thought I'd be able to do God's work in this way, and I am very fortunate and blessed to be able to serve.

Please pray that God watch over me, and that everyone that I come in contact with will be touched and changed by the good news of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. Pray that He will pave the way for clear and effective evangelism!

Organization: ELIC (English Language Institute of China)

 Teaching conversational English to our own classroom of Chinese teenagers, pursuing friendships with them, and sharing the hope we have in the Father! Our last week will be spent with long-term ELIC staff in Asia, serving with them and seeing what the Father is doing globally. 

 Pray for me and my team, that the impact we have in the lives of our students would be transformative. Pray also that we would be united together as a body as we seek to make much of Him.

I will have a chance to share my faith with the people there as well as building a community with other missionaries and learn from their experiences. The skills, experiences, and the people I’ll encounter will help shape me into a leader God has made me to be. It’ll equip me to bring these skills back to SoCal to teach others to be leaders for Christ and develop lifestyles of sharing the gospel. Because San Francisco is so diverse, I’ll learn how to share my faith in ways that are relevant to each person I encounter, both there and at home in SoCal.

Please pray for fearlessness in sharing the gospel and letting God take full control in what happens over there. Also pray that I not expect anything, but just flow with what God has in store for me.

Organization: Good Samaritan Medical and Dental Ministry

Our primary focus will be to meet the healthcare needs of the local villagers. I, along with 60 other student healthcare assistants, will serve with a variety of licensed doctors and physicians to help aid this highly rural Vietnamese population.

Please pray that God's love will be manifested and evident through our free acts of service. Realizing that my team will consist of some non-Christians, pray that I would be able to be a witness to not only the people we will be serving, but also to my teammates. And that God would be the center and sole focus of the trip.

Lift Off! Missions - Day 10

Location: Fullerton, CA
Organization: The Navigators

 Most of my time will be spent in a team context, where 3-4 students will be together with a student leader.  We will live together, work together (at Disneyland!), study the Bible together, minister together, etc. We will also have the opportunity to live and work alongside people in the Fullerton community. All summer I will be investing in those who do not know Christ and learning how to impact them for Christ.

Pray for boldness and opportunities in the workplace to share about Christ. Team unity and openness as we study the Word and fellowship together. Direction for the program (this is the first year the Navigators are having a Summer Training Program in California).
