COVID-19 (Coronavirus)
Greetings Flight!
As many of you may have already heard, FCBCLA has suspended all ministry-related activities (including Sunday worship services) at church until March 31, 2020, effective immediately (started March 13). This was not an easy decision that took much prayer, research, and consideration. There is an official statement (and future updates) posted here from the church if you're interested.
We also know that many of you have suspended in-person classes and have gone online at this time. Schools have asked that you remain online even after spring break in case students have traveled during your time off. Getting back to the 'norm' is quite far away at this moment. It's been a difficult time that has changed rather rapidly and we hope to encourage you through it all. So let's keep a few things in mind:
- Please continue to pray. We have a God who listens and hears our cries. If you're feeling anxious, unsure, lost, know that God is by your side and has a listening ear.
- Be careful and caring. We all know the health concerns, so please do your part to remain cautious of your environment and wash your hands. Practice social distancing when possible (6-feet). But also continue to smile and talk to people around you. Times of crisis brings people together--especially those in need.
- Be considerate of others. Just because you're young and healthy, doesn't mean you can't contract and spread the virus. Consider others who may not have as strong an immune system or the elderly that you may come into contact with. Be mindful of others over your own well-being.
- Connect as the church. Even though we're not meeting on Sundays for some time, we'll still continue to gather in small groups (the smaller the better). Look out for gatherings throughout the week for prayer, fellowship, and community. We'll do our best to be the church even though we're not meeting as regularly in our typical space. We encourage you to get together on your own as well--please don't isolate yourself (unless you're sick).
We'll get through this together as the body of Christ and share our love of Christ that He has first shared with us. Love and reach out to others because we have been loved by God first. If you need any prayer support, a listening ear, or have any questions, don't hesitate to call, text, message, or email Darren.
Here's one thing you can do right now: message, text, call, or ask someone how they're doing in the midst of all this. Then ask if you can pray for them. Go. Do it now!
