Lift Off! 40 Days of Sacrifice - Day 30

Day 30: Syrian Refugees

Deuteronomy 10:18-19
He executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and shows His love for the alien by giving him food and clothing. So show your love for the alien, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

We will spend the next section of pray focused on the Syrian crisis at hand. We hope to not only be informed in prayer, but to also sacrificially give thoughtfully.

What is the Syrian refugee crisis?
For the past four years, Syria has been in a civil war that has forced 11 million people— half the country’s pre-crisis population—to flee their homes. About 7.6 million Syrians have been internally displaced within the country, and 4 million have fled Syria for other countries. The result is one of the largest forced migrations since World War II. Take a moment to pray for the country of Syria and the turmoil it has been going through for the past 5 years. Pray for peace throughout the country so that people no long have to flee. And pray that resolution may be found in its leadership and governing bodies. But also pray for many people who have not yet fled the country for any reason. Pray that they find escape, safety, and peace in their own lives as well.
