Thailand Missions (2016) "We're Not in Thailand Anymore"
Happy Monday! Here's what happened over the weekend:
Saturday:
Today I was awakened by our Taiwanese neighbors. They were so loud. Smh. Anyways....Yesterday night which was Friday, was our last day of teaching at our school (Jian Hua). This means we gotta move now! So now we are moving to another place which is located like 15 minutes away. It is called BBI (Bethel Bible Institue) That is where we are staying. Lillian used to teach there. She has many dogs there. We went back to Jian Hua to pick up some awards and certificates and had our final lunch there! After that we drove to the new school where we will be teaching at (Phami). We scouted the amount of space and where we would be teaching. We met the leaders of the school (Paul and Milky). They took us in and offered us coffee.
The Thai people really like their coffee. While we were getting acquainted, it started raining. Today was our supply/snacks shopping day. Since it was raining so hard, Paul drove us to Tesco (store like Walmart). We bought a bunch of snacks for tonights bible study. So after the market we had like an hour to rest before bible study started. So we went back to eat some dinner (Ramen by Chef Kristy). After dinner we went to the bible study. At the bible study we first performed making melodies.
Lillian loved it so much she made us perform it like 5 times! Well it was also to teach the kids too. After bible study we invited a couple kids to eat dinner with us in Mae Side. Na, Fa, Danny and Cha Cha. They live at Jian Hua. Once we came back we sang happy birthday to Alisa cause it was her birthday! Yay!
Sunday:
I woke up hella tired. Today was Sunday, so on todays agenda we were going to attend 2 churches.
First church was like 30 minutes away. They had their own worship with hand motions, that was fun! After worship I gave a testimony. Then our group presented a song to their congregation. Then Lillian gave a sermon. It was on Luke 7:1-10. After church we went to the Pastors house. And of course he served us his famous coffee. The kids outside his house kept throwing huge caterpillars around like it was a toy! They be throwing em at like Kristy. After that we went on hike to Burma to go to another church that the pastor teaches at. It was a long hike.
When we were at the church Lillian had us teach Making Melodies again! All good. After we taught and sang to them, they sang to us in their language. Cute little kids with them big smiles. Like this one! He mad cute.
Once service was over we had to walk back. It was a mission.. It was more of a uphill hike. We finished the hike and headed back to BBI. We got to rest for about an hour before we went to Cannan (Student Service Center). At Cannan we got to play and just hang out with the students. Me and Caleb started playing ball with the kids and BAM! Little did you know we had a low key superstar on our team! ALISA WONG. She came to play and started blocking everybody like she was Lebron! Beast mode. That was fun. Everyone else was playing with the guitars and just chillin. It was fun. Then dinner time. We got these chicken sandwiches which were pretty amazing. 25 baut. What a steal! Yeahh we got back and planned out our schedule for the whole week. Yup. That was our day!
Prayer Requests:
Pray for more energy since its a new week and more teaching
Pray for the kids at the new school. It is a christian school so pray that we can help further their faith and to encourage them.
Pray for our health. Our new location has more mosquitoes. So more mosquitos means more bites.
