I will be living in a low-income neighborhood of Los Angeles alongside other students from various college campuses. In order to fully experience the realities of the communities we are living in, my team and I will be living off a fixed-income similar to residents in the neighborhood. As we experience urban poverty first hand, we will also be engaging in other relevant issues such as homelessness, education, and racism. Additionally, my team and I will be partnering with a local organization invested in serving the urban population to help make a tangible impact during, and hopefully after, my time at LAUP.
Pray for God's strength, grace, love, and transformation for my team and I, as well as the people we will encounter. Pray that I grow, not only in my understanding of social justice and the marginalized, but also in my understanding of God's love for His people no matter who they are. Pray that God would give me a sense of His amazing wonder and work through these communities.
