Lift Off! Month of Missionaries (2016) - Day 12

Day 12: Adam Kuo
Junior, Biola

Missions Information
July 3 - July 10
Location: Hard Rock, AZ (Navajo Reservation)
Organization: FCBC

On the trip, I will be helping lead the 4th/5th grade class alongside Kevin Leong. I will be helping to make sure that the class runs smoothly, that kids are listening and behaving during class, help the VBS teachers when needed, and do anything else that Kevin asks of me to do.

I was led to this particular trip over the course of 2016 as I discerned and prayed about where God may have wanted me to serve in a short term missions role during the summer. After attending Urbana over winter break, I felt a calling to go on a short term missions trip and be focused on opportunities that would present a chance for me to serve. As 2016 went by, it became clearer to me that the Lord was calling me back to the Navajo Reservation to serve and minister to the Navajo children. In addition, personal revelations from God and life happenings that closed other avenues for missions made it more clear to me that I was being pointed in a direction that would prepare and ready me for this particular trip.

Pray that my serving on the team would be out of an overflowing heart of love for Christ and that I would serve with a Christlike concern for the gospel to be spread on the reservation, not out of a manufactured and self-serving heart. In addition, pray that I would lead the 4th/5th grade class without any fears or worries about "the right way to lead", and that I would lead accordingly to how God uses me during the week.
