2015 Flight Retreat Theme
Are you ready for retreat this year? I'm sure many of you may think, "Who is even going this year--isn't there Urbana or something?" Well yes, there are a handful going to St Louis for the missions conference, but we're still having retreat! And I think this year's retreat theme exactly represents this type of thinking.
Sometimes, we focus on the good things available to us in life--and this isn't different with our spiritual lives. We want the good things to be exciting, thrilling, fun. But in many ways, the Christian life has its bad and ugly sides; and God calls us to strive through these parts as well. We hope to instill this idea into all those who attend retreat this year. Despite not having certain people attending, would you consider coming anyways--knowing that meeting God and fellowshipping with other believers may be exactly what you need this winter break.
Here's some more details about retreat:
Dates: Saturday, Dec 26 - Tuesday, Dec 29
Location: Camp Metoche, Angelus Oaks, CA
Speaker: Steven Crawford (Campus Director of The Navigators at USC)
Theme: The Good, the Bad, the Ugly
Verse: Isaiah 43:3-10
We are called to know the God we love and serve. And although we may think to know many things about Him, He is much more than we completely understand. The God who reveals Himself through His Word has many characteristics—many of them easy to accept. But do we truly see these traits for everything that He is? Let’s come together to not only study the good traits of God, let’s look at them closer as some may seem bad, and even ugly.
