Passage: A Study of Colossians
DON'T FORGET! There is NO Passage Sunday, 12/28 due to Flight Retreat. See you all 1/4 for our NEW curriculum:
This coming Winter Quarter, we will be introducing a NEW curriculum in Passage: A Study of Colossians. Here's a brief:
In a time when it is growing increasingly difficult to be devoted to Christ, the book of Colossians remains relevant by addressing the superiority of Christ over all human philosophies and traditions, including the ones we hear about today. This book exalts Jesus Christ as the Preeminent One and proclaims His supremacy over all things. As Paul writes these truths, he reminds believers, who have been raised with Christ, the right way of living so that we would be ready to defend sound doctrine and be able to identify false teachers. We are reminded to "walk in Christ", so that we would not be taken captive by philosophies and empty deceit. As believers, it is easy to live our lives short-sightedly and be caught up in early matters, but Paul reminds us to "put to death therefore what is earthly in you" if indeed we have been raised with Christ. Let us make Christ the center of our lives and allow Him to guide us with His word on how we are to live in this world today.
Come join us on Sundays at 8:45am (refreshments served first) and we'll begin the lesson promptly at 9:00am. Also, follow along on the blog for weekly synopses.
